When people think of New Orleans, their first thought is likely to be about either our world class cuisine or our completely original music. There is no better way to experience this than to attend the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
This year’s festival was held on April 27-29 and May 4-6 at the fairgrounds on Gentilly Boulevard. It was truly a success with performances by some outstanding Louisiana artists. Among these were Lucinda Williams, Zachary Richard, Dr. John, Bonerama, Buckwheat Zydeco, Cowboy Mouth, and the Semolian Warriors; the closing act was by Harry Connick Jr. With attendance at nearly pre-Katrina levels revelers brought back some much needed life into a city continuing to rebuild two years later.
