Barbecue Dave’s Mushrooms Featured

Makes 8—10 servings




  • 1 pound jumbo white button mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 packet (0.7 ounces) Italian dressing mix
  • 8 ounces of your favorite barbecue sauce




Wash and pat dry the mushrooms. Mix together the vinegar, water, oil and dressing mix to make Italian dressing. Place mushrooms in a large bowl.


Pour in Italian dressing and equal amount of barbecue sauce, enough to completely coat each mushroom after stirring. Let the mushrooms marinate for 20 to 30 minutes while starting the coals. Cook the mushrooms on the barbecue grill for 15 to 20 minutes on direct heat, or 45 minutes to an hour if using indirect heat or upper grill racks. Turn and baste the mushrooms with marinade 2 to 4 times while cooking.
