Premium Party Mix
Gregg Greene for Louisiana Cookin
- 2 boxes Corn Chex cereal (or 1 Corn and 1 Wheat)
- 1 box Rice Chex cereal
- 1 box Cheerios cereal
- 1 bag Mini Pretzel Twists
- 1 box Hot & Spicy Cheez-It Crackers
- 1 can dry roasted almonds
- 1 bag pecan halves
- 1 can candy coated peanuts
- 1 bag M&M’s
- 4 sticks margarine (melted)
- 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Tabasco
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon celery salt
- 2 teaspoon red pepper
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Hot Cajun Seasonings Blend
Preheat oven to 250°F. Mix all dry ingredients (except the candy coated peanuts and M&M’s) in a large container or in a new, scent-free garbage bag. Mix the margarine and spices together in a separate bowl. Slowly pour the liquid mixture over the cereals and gently mix until all the pieces are coated. Put the mix into a large roaster (or two medium roasters), cover, and cook for one hour, gently stirring every 20 minutes. Remove lid and cook for another 30 minutes.
Mix in the candy coated peanuts and M&M’s and spread out on wax paper until completely cool. Store mix in air-tight containers.
The combination of sweet and spicy along with the extreme crunch and quality nuts makes this very addicting. Feel free to substitute (or add) your favorite snacks or nuts. The quantities of the dry ingredients are not critical.
