Ingredients
  1. 2 teaspoons oyster sauce
  2. 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  3. 5 tablespoons canola oil, plus more as needed, divided
  4. 2 (7-ounce) boneless ribeye steaks, thinly sliced
  5. 2 cups chopped cremini mushrooms
  6. 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and chopped
  7. 2 to 3 tablespoons water
  8. 2 large fresh red chile peppers, seeded and sliced
  9. 2 green onions, chopped
  10. Garlic Pepper Sauce, recipe follows
  11. Hot cooked white rice
Instructions
  1. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine oyster and soy sauces and 2 tablespoons canola oil; mix well. Add steak; close bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  2. In a large saucepan, heat remaining 3 tablespoons canola oil over medium heat until oil begins to smoke. Add beef, and cook, stirring constantly, for 30 seconds; remove and set aside.
  3. Add more canola oil if pan looks dry. Add mushrooms, and cook, stirring often, for 1 to 2 minutes. Add asparagus, and cook for 2 minutes more. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons water to pan along with beef. Continue to cook, stirring often. Add chiles, green onion, and Garlic Pepper Sauce. Stir constantly over medium heat for 30 seconds. Serve over hot cooked rice.

  1. 2 tablespoons cold water
  2. 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  3. ½ cup chicken broth
  4. ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons finely chopped garlic
  5. ¼ cup sugar
  6. ¼ cup oyster sauce
  7. ¼ cup soy sauce
  8. 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  9. 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  10. 2 teaspoons chile paste
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine water and cornstarch, whisking to combine; set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, bring chicken broth, garlic, sugar, oyster and soy sauces, vinegar, pepper, and chile paste to a boil over medium heat. Add cornstarch mixture, and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
