Get your tickets now for Hogs for the Cause, the annual two-day charity barbecue cook-off and music festival. The 2017 event will be held in its new location at the East Campus of the University of New Orleans Lakefront Arena Grounds, where competing teams will vie for the title of Grand Champion. Awards will also be given out for whole hog, shoulder/butt, ribs, “porkpourri,” best sauce, fan favorite, biggest fundraiser, best booth, and best Friday night party.
The ninth annual festival will feature three stages and top-billed bands, including Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Railroad Earth, Shovels & Rope, The London Souls, Fruit Bats, and more. The purpose of Hogs for the Cause is to provide assistance to families with children battling brain cancer.
Since its inception, Hogs for the Cause has made contributions totaling more than $1 million to individuals and hospitals across the South. Hogs for the Cause is the premier funding source for pediatric brain cancer outreach services in the United States, and has distributed grants to more than 400 families who have a child being treated for brain cancer.
