Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights

Amid all the shopping, preparations, and decorating that come with the Christmas season, Louisiana’s Holiday Trail of Lights provides an abundance of fun, family-friendly ways to enjoy seasonal activities across central and north Louisiana.

The town of Minden’s holiday experience includes fireworks, parades, Christmas concerts, and more than a hundred life-size Nutcrackers. Don’t miss the Fasching Fifth Season Celebration. The Christmas-themed festival features German food, beer exhibitions, and children’s activities.

Historic Natchitoches becomes the City of Lights during the Annual Natchitoches Christmas Festival of Lights, a six-week long holiday celebration beginning the Saturday before Thanksgiving and ending on January 6th (Epiphany). Visitors can enjoy live music, food vendors, and activities along the downtown riverbank, shopping along brick-paved Front Street, a candlelight holiday home tour, the annual Natchitoches Christmas Festival parade, and weekly firework shows over Cane River Lake—not to mention more than 300,000 Christmas lights and 100 lighted set pieces.

The month-long Christmas on the River series in Monroe features two parades, unique shopping, a spectacular fireworks display, festive ballet performances, and more. Don’t miss the light displays on Antique Alley and throughout Downtown Monroe and West Monroe, as well as Christmas at the Biedenharn and Santa’s Christmas Village at the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum.

Christmas in Shreveport-Bossier means twinkling lights, fireworks, parades, and plenty of shopping. Holiday happenings kick off in mid-November with the lighting of a 40-foot Christmas tree at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets. Check out Christmas in Roseland, a winter wonderland with more than one million twinkling lights adorning the 26-acre rose park.

Good tidings abound in the Alexandria/Pineville area, where sparkling lights, community parades, appearances by Santa Claus, and performing arts round out the holiday offerings. Visitors can enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas, experience a pilgrimage to Bethlehem, and experience the Alexandria Historic Garden District Tour of Homes during the annual Alexandria/Pineville 12 Nights of Christmas.
