Satchmo SummerFest Returns to New Orleans

Satchmo Summerfest

Satchmo SummerFest

New Orleans
July 31-August 2

On a warm New Orleans summer evening, there is undeniable magic in strolling through the French Quarter, the intoxicating mix of sweet olive and Creole cooking wafting through the air, and the sounds of New Orleans’s soulful music echoing from each street corner.

For 14 years, Satchmo SummerFest has brought this experience to life through the celebration of Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong and his lasting influence on the smooth sounds of the Crescent City. The three-day festival features some of New Orleans’s top musical acts (including Ellis Marsalis, Deacon John, and the Rebirth Jazz Band), the city’s world-famous cuisine, and plenty of beverage vendors to keep thirsty festivalgoers well-hydrated.

Satchmo Summerfest, sponsored by French Quarter Festivals, Inc., takes place in and around the grounds of the Old U.S. Mint, which is conveniently located on the edge of the French Quarter and near the bustling music venues on Frenchmen Street.
